Babygirl, perhaps only in destruction you feel the most alive. Because if your body doesn’t recognise happiness, then pain shall be the only reason your body awakes.

When did you start getting used to the pain till the point where nothing seems to hurt you anymore?

They look into your eyes, and ask how do you glow in the midst of chaos.

You lie, you tell them you’re in love with life. And perhaps you are.

I’m the kind of person who lives for the brief moments of happiness, and when, as all things do, come to an end, I drown myself in memories, in melancholy. Not because it hurts...

The 3 important lessons my mom taught me.

Today is Mother’s day, and this post is dedicated to my mom.
I am the lady that I am because of her.

1. People always remember the way you make them feel.

My mom is the queen of eternal sunshine. She has never been the academic sort and never had the chance to get a tertiary education, much less a university degree. But what she did was worked so hard at being the best at what she did – making people feel great. Her natural charisma helped her connect with people like I’ve seen no other has ever done.

My mom taught me that no matter what you do, or how good or poor of a job you do – people will always remember how you make them feel.

Whether it is to the roadside cleaner, or the old aunty selling tissue paper packs at the coffee shop. Whether it is to her high flying CEO, or people that have been unkind to her – she always treats people with a sense of respect and warmth.

The 6 ways I stay driven.

I’m but 23 years of age. But people who know me often get amused at how laser focused I am at my dreams when I really should just be enjoying my youth sipping mai tai’s on the beach. Instead, I’m on the constant prowl of becoming better than who I am the day before.

I’ve always been asked about my secrets at becoming & staying driven.

Here they are:

1. You are who you surround yourself with.

When people say that you’re who you spend your time with, they’re not kidding. Time is the only commodity that you can’t buy.
If you’re ready to reach for the stars, find like minded individuals who are hardworking, driven and passionate.

Trust me on this: The driven will drive you further.

2. Cut out what doesn’t matter.

Like I’ve said, time is the only commodity that you can’t buy. And that’s one belief that always keeps me making smart decisions on the way I choose to live.
